The bus stopped at a bus stop by a primary school. Quite a number of pupils got on the bus, and the whole bus became lively. Among these pupils, my attention was drawn to a boy sitting in front of me. He was holding a note book. I couldhear him softy speaking “Post office, temple, mosque, police station,” and otherwords, I guessed he just learned at school. 10 minutes later, he stood up to press the bell. The bus slowed down and bus driver knew where he was staying, because he did not stop at the bus stop instead by the road side right in front of his house. Seeing him walking back home, it is so arresting I quickly took a photo. This picture was not a scene from any TV advertisement, movie or drama, it really happened in real life. Bus journeys are indeed interesting, there are many different scenes occurring every day. -- Get the book now. -- A Prayer For Safety
The harbour is a safe haven for fishing boats, The docks always welcoming returning fishermen. Sometimes the ports fishy smell is good, Because you know the fishermen came back safe. Having fun while working Entering the fishing village, I saw many fishing boats docked in an orderly manner. Each boat is unique, it’s amazing to see many all lined up. As I walked by a big fishery, the noise coming from within and the people shuffling around seemed like a scene out of a documentary on the Discovery Channel. The fishermen and workers carefully carting fish to the fishery, workers emptying boxes of fish onto the ground, women sorting out the different varieties then quickly putting them into containers. Once one becomes full, someone swoops in with a new container. In other parts of the fishery, I could see workers cleaning fish, and making fish balls and fish cakes. There were regular customers coming into the fishery. The lady boss who runs the place, was an exceptional sales woman, no matter how customers haggled, she still managed them well and sold containers to everyone. Salute! Although everyone was busy, they could still make jokes. Even the boss and customers would join in to laugh. The whole environment was simply awesome! It portrayed no matter how hard life is, we must try to have some fun. It’s unavoidable in fisheries, that you may get splashed by fishy water. But with such a happy and lively environment, I stayed longer. I guess with a positive attitude, you won’t feel that work is hard, this is the attitude all of us should pick up. ...... -- Get the book now. -- |
